The paintings I've included in this series were completed during a time in which my life pivoted into and out of a single event.

When I completed this first painting in the series, I’d just come out of a traumatic and chaotic time and was feeling anxious, determined and cautiously hopeful. Although I was feeling better, I knew that I had to be aware of my physical health because I was not completely healed yet.

And I think with this figure, it was that caution that I was feeling and that determination and this impatience of my experience at that time.

The Crossing Series 2025

The word Crossing came to mind as a title for this series back in September 2024 following a year of life changes. Entering 2025 my life contined to be in flux and I felt as though I were on a long trek moving through unknowns and learning as I manuevered through this new state of being. I was in the act of crosing and I was trying to comprehend the journey. The Crossing Series is comprised of six paintings that I started in mid 2024.
