When I completed this first painting in the series, I’d just come out of a traumatic and chaotic time and was feeling anxious, determined and cautiously hopeful. Although I was feeling better, I knew that I had to be aware of my physical health because I was not completely healed yet. And I think with this figure, it was that caution that I was feeling and that determination and this impatience of my experience at that time.
